202 Chapter Application


D.Y.G. Chapter Criteria

  • Prospective Distinguished Young Gentlemen may apply with a grade point average below 2.8. However, prospective Distinguished Young Gentlemen must maintain a minimum 2.8 cumulative grade point average upon entry every academic period. (*Note: D.Y.G. Program Staff will verify the G.P.A of all Applicants).

  • Prospective Distinguished Young Gentlemen shall be minority males enrolled in 7th-12th Grade (current 6th graders are eligible to apply).

  • Prospective Distinguished Young Gentlemen must have two letters of recommendation.

  • Prospective Distinguished Young Gentlemen must submit a typed essay. Topic: "What separates the good from the great?" (Full two pages double-spaced)

  • Prospective Distinguished Young Gentlemen must submit an academic transcript with the application.

  • Prospective Distinguished Young Gentlemen must submit a professional photo with the application.

  • Prospective Distinguished Young Gentlemen must submit a $50.00 application fee with the application. 

  • Application closes Sunday, May 5th, 2024 at 11:59 PM. Incomplete and Un-submitted applications can be saved.
